To connect and activate your intended hardware to Signagelive, you must add licences to your Signagelive Network. The following guide will take you through this process and show you how to add your licences for the first time.

As before, we’ve broken the guide down into different stages to give you the best possible guidance on completing this process without issue.


Step 1: Requirements before you add your first Licence

The following list is things you will need before you add your first licences:

  • You must follow the instructions in this guide to log in to your Signagelive account and then access the Network to which you wish to add your licences.

  • You must be looking to add unused and valid Signagelive licences that have not been used before or have already been added to another Network.


Step 2: What is a Signagelive Licence?

A Signagelive licence is required to ensure your intended Players (Media Players) can be activated to Signagelive, which will determine the duration period of your service. Our standard licence works with one player and supports a maximum of two outputs from that player. We do offer licences for multi-output devices (such as video wall players).

Our licences work on a per-player basis. Each licence can be attached to 1 player from our supported devices


Step 3: How to add your first licences to Signagelive Network?

To add your first licences to your Signagelive Network please follow these steps:

  • While logged into your Signagelive Network, press click on the Settings drop-down.

  • Next, please select Licences from the menu to access the Licence Manager

  • Within the Licence Manager, please now press the Add button (blue button with +)

  • When the drop-down menu appears, please now select Licences

  • Next, paste or type one or multiple licences into the ‘Licences to Add’ text box (add a line break between licences if adding multiple licences)

  • Once you have added your licences, please make sure you read through the End User Licence Agreement document before ticking the available tick-box to confirm you agree to these terms.

  • When ready to proceed, please now press the Add Licences button.

Your newly added licences will now be available in your Signagelive Network and are ready to be activated against a Signagelive Player of your choice. For advice on how to activate your Player, please see this article.

Please Note these points about Licences:

  • Licences in your Licence Pool (the list of available licences in the Licence Manager) can also be used as renewals if they have not been previously activated against another Signagelive Player. For more information on applying as renewals, please see the steps in this article.

  • Signagelive Licences do not become active until they have been activated against a Signagelive Player for the first time. You can filter your available licences by "Unregistered" to identify any licences that match this status.


Step 4: Issues you might face when adding a Licence?

If you experience issues when attempting to add new licences to your Network, this can be due to the following:

  • The licences you are attempting to add have already been used ("used" meaning they have already been added to a Signagelive Network)

  • The formatting of the licences, when copied and pasted into the Add Licences module, may include unsupported characters (such as a space or a bullet point at the start of the licence number)
