How to activate your Signagelive Player?

This article provides a walkthrough on how to activate your Signagelive Player against a Licence.

The following guide will help you activate your Signagelive Player for your Signagelive Network. Before you begin, we recommend you read through the following steps if you need help. We’ve broken the guide down into different stages to give you the best possible guidance on completing this process without issue.


Step 1: Requirements before activating a Player

The following list are things you will need before you can activate a Player:

  1. Please log into your Signagelive Account according to the instructions in this guide.

  2. You will need to have added at least one licence to your Signagelive Network, and for simplicity, this should be either new or currently deactivated. (Article)

  3. You'll need to follow the Player Configuration steps as shown in this section for your chosen Media Player and have an Activation Code showing on the screen.


Step 2 - How do I activate a Player against a new licence?

If you are ready to activate your Media Player and have an activation code, then we recommend you follow these steps:

  1. To begin, please click on Settings, then select Licences from the drop-down menu.

  2. Please now choose the Licence you wish to activate by selecting the Licence Code, which will take you to the Licence Summary page. (If you have not done this yet, please follow this article to add your Licence)

  3. Please now enter the 6-digit activation code from your Media Player screen into the relevant area on the Licence Summary page and click Activate.

Once your Player has been activated successfully, your Media Player should soon display a green tick on-screen. If the Activation Code stays for longer than expected, this is most likely because content has been previously published to this Licence, and the Player is simply downloading this scheduling at the time.


Step 3 - How do I activate a Player against an existing licence?

Similar to Step 2, If you are activating your Media Player against a Licence that has already been used with another Player, you'll first need to ensure that the Player has been deactivated in order to use its allocated Licence. Here's how:

  1. Log into your Signagelive Network

  2. To begin, please click on Settings, then select Licences from the drop-down menu.

  3. Please now choose the existing Licence you wish to activate that has been previously by selecting the Licence Code, which will take you to the Licence Summary page. (If you have not done the deactivation process to allow this process, please follow this article to deactivate the Player).

  4. From the Licence Summary page for the licence, please now enter the 6-digit activation code from your Media Player screen into the relevant area on the Licence Summary page and click Activate.

Once your Player has been activated successfully, your Media Player should soon display a green tick on-screen if you have removed all previous schedules. If the Activation Code stays for longer than expected, this is most likely because content has been previously published to this Licence, and the Player is simply downloading this scheduling at the time. This will be a very common experience for an existing licence and this process.
