Here are three possible examples of when you may need to deactivate a licence from your Signagelive player:
• Replacing a faulty player: If the current Signagelive player is experiencing a hardware failure and needs to be replaced with a new device, the licence from the faulty player must first be deactivated. This frees up the licence to be activated on the new replacement player.
• Upgrading hardware: When a user decides to upgrade their digital signage hardware to a more capable device, they must deactivate the licence from the old player before it can be used on the new, upgraded player.
• Reassigning a licence: An organisation might want to reassign a licence from a player in one location to a player in a different location or for a different purpose. Deactivating the licence on the original player allows it to be reactivated on the new target player
Method 1: Deactivate via Licence Manager
• Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator.
• Navigate to Settings.
• Select Licences.
• Click on the 16-digit licence code of the licence you wish to deactivate.
• Select Deactivate.
• Click OK to confirm.
• The licence will appear in the Licence Manager as deactivated, highlighted in amber.
Method 2: Deactivate via Player Manager
• Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator.
• Navigate to Network.
• Choose Manage.
• Select the Player associated with the licence you want to deactivate.
• Click on the Licence tab.
• Select Deactivate.
• The licence will appear in the Licence Manager as deactivated, highlighted in amber.
Method 3: Place the Player in the Trash
• Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator.
• Navigate to Network.
• Choose Manage.
• Select the Player associated with the licence you want to place in the Trash.
• Click on the red Trash icon.
• The Player will be trashed and subsequently deactivated.
Outcome of licence deactivation
All the methods described above will successfully deactivate the current player from this licence, allowing you to reassign it to another Signagelive player or the same one, as needed.
