Why would I deactivate a Licence?

Typically, users deactivate a Player or remove a Player from a licence when they need to switch the device associated with a license. This may occur, for example, if the current Player is faulty and needs to be replaced.

To do this, simply deactivate the existing Player and then activate the new one using the same deactivated license.

How can I deactivate my licence?

There are three methods to deactivate a license. Follow the instructions for either method to access the license information for a Player:

Method 1: Deactivate via License Manager

  1. Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Choose Licenses.

  4. Click on the 16-digit license code of the license you wish to deactivate.

  5. Select Deactivate.

  6. Click OK to confirm.

Once deactivated, the license will appear in the License Manager as deactivated, highlighted in amber.

Method 2: Deactivate via Player Manager

  1. Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator.

  2. Select Network.

  3. Choose Manage.

  4. Select the Player associated with the license you want to deactivate.

  5. Click on the License tab.

  6. Select Deactivate.

Once deactivated, the license will appear in the License Manager as deactivated, highlighted in amber.

Method 3: Place the Player in the Trash

  1. Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator.

  2. Select Network.

  3. Choose Manage.

  4. Select the Player associated with the license you want to place in the Trash.

  5. Click on the red Trash icon

  6. The Player will now be trashed and subsequently deactivated.

All methods above will successfully deactivate the license, allowing you to replace or reassign it as needed.
