The Player Manager (also commonly called the Network Manager) is your central hub for managing, viewing and editing all the settings for each Player activated on your Signagelive Network.

Here's how to access it:

  1. Log in to your Signagelive Network as a User or Administrator.

  2. Select Network from the main menu.

  3. Select Manage.

Take a look at this video showing the features of the Signagelive Player Manager:

The Player Manager is broken down into the following usable areas:

Using the Search Bar

The Search Bar is one of the most powerful features on the Player Manager. Here's just some of the features that it can give you:

  • It allows you to quickly find Players by their name or any tags you've applied to them (want to learn more about tags? [Link to Player Tagging Article]).

  • Your search terms can be carried across different folders, and you'll see the current search terms and folder listed just below the search bar.

  • You can also search through different pages within the Player Manager, which displays 20 Players per page.

This makes it super easy to locate the Players you need, even in large networks.

Selecting multiple Players using the toolbar

The Player Manager's toolbar gives you powerful options to select and filter your Players, making it easy to manage your network!

Selecting Players:

You can quickly select one, multiple, or even all your Players:

  • All: Selects every Player in your network, even across multiple pages.

  • This Page: Selects only the Players currently visible on your viewing page.

  • None: Deselects all Players.

Filtering Your View:

Use the "Filter" option to narrow down which Players you see:

  • All: Shows every Player in your network.

  • Selected: Displays only the Players you have currently selected.

  • Recently Added: Shows Players that have been added recently (helpful for new deployments!).

Player Management Actions:

Once you've selected Players, a range of actions becomes available in the toolbar:

  • Refresh: Updates the Player list.

  • Delete: Removes selected Players from your network.

  • Request Renewals: Initiates a license renewal request for selected Players.

  • Player Settings: Accesses standard settings for selected Players.

  • Manage Tags: Allows you to add or remove tags from selected Players.

  • Export: Exports data about the selected Players.

You'll be able to learn more about using the Player Settings menu here.

Smart Folders

In the Player Manager's left-hand menu, you'll find Smart Folders alongside any custom folders you've created. Smart Folders are super useful, pre-set categories that help you quickly manage your network!

Here are the Smart Folders you'll find:

  • All: Shows every single Player registered on your Signagelive Network.

  • Recently Added: Displays the last 25 Players that were added to your network.

  • Recently Used: Shows any Players that have had their settings changed recently within your Signagelive Network.

  • Trash: Lists any Players that you have "trashed" from your Signagelive Network.

These Smart Folders give you a quick and easy way to navigate and filter your Players, making management a breeze.

Folders

In the Player Manager, you can easily create folders to organise your Signagelive Players. Click the "Add" button and select "Folder" to create a new one. To add Players to a folder, just drag them from your list directly into it. Inside a folder's settings, you can change its name, see how many Players are in it, and even add tags that will automatically apply to all the Players inside, making it super easy to manage many at once.

Player Manager

The central part of the Player Manager is where you'll find a clear list of all your registered Players. By default, they're listed alphabetically, and you can change how much detail you see using the Simple, List, or Detailed views.

You can easily browse through your Players using the arrow buttons; each page shows 20 Players.

Quick Actions from the List:

  • Select Players: Use the checkboxes next to each Player to select (or deselect) them. Once selected, you can use the toolbar's filter options to perform actions on multiple Players simultaneously.

  • Individual Player Options: To the right of each Player, you'll find a menu that lets you quickly view, request a license renewal, or delete that specific Player.

Dive Deeper into Player Details:

By simply clicking on a Player's name (or any of its listed information), you'll go directly to its detailed settings. Here, you can view and edit various aspects of that Player, including:

  • Status: Get a quick overview of the Player's current health and activity.

  • Connectivity: Check details like Content Checks, Health Checks, set up Remote Screenshots, and manage Scheduled Reboots.

  • Content and Screen On/Off: See what content is currently published and manage any Screen On/Off schedules.

  • View all assigned single-word tags, which are great for organising and targeting content.

  • System: Find detailed information about the Player's hardware, software, and network setup, plus configure its timezone.

  • Proof of Play: Enable/disable Proof of Play for the Player and configure playback "references."

  • License: See the license status, and perform actions like deactivate, convert to complete, or request renewal (depending on your license type).

  • Site and Contact Details: View and edit the Player's physical site information (name, address), which some dynamic content (like weather widgets) uses. You can also add local contact details.

  • Notes: Add any important notes or specific information about that Player.
