Configuring a BrightSign XC5 with bezel compensation

When configuring a BrightSign XC5 to display content across multiple screens, you can now allow gaps to be left on the canvas to account for the bezels/gaps between the screens.

First. you'll need to measure the bezel/gap between the screens in millimetres and convert this to pixels. To calculate the size of a screen bezel in pixels from millimetres, you must divide the bezel width in millimetres by the pixel pitch (also in millimetres - this can often be found in the spec sheet for the screen you are using).

Once you have your bezel dimensions (in pixels) you can then add this to your x and y coordinates when generating the config file for your Player via the BrightSign Config Tool.

Please Note

When configuring multiple screens in a vertical or horizontal row, be mindful of the positioning of your screens once the bezel dimensions (in pixels) have been added to your x and y coordinates. For example, if you are running 4 screens in a horizontal row side by side and have added 35 to the x dimensions to account for the bezel between screens 1 and 2, the number to be added to the x coordinate of screen 3 will be double the original bezel dimensions (in this case 35 x 2 = 70) as screen 2 has already been shifted 35 pixels to the right.

Additionally, if you want to find out the total bezel-adjusted resolution, add the pixel width of the bezel to the total width (1920p + [bezel width in pixels] + 1920p) and do the same with the total height (1080p + [bezel width in pixels] + 1080p) then add these together to get the total bezel-adjusted resolution (3870 x 2195 pixels).
