B-Deploy is a direct integration with the BrightSign provisioning system. Using the serial number of the device, you are able to configure your BrightSign device, or devices, remotely and easily. The following guide will show you through the steps.
Please Note
We recommend that you update your Brightsign device to the appropriate firmware before configuring Signagelive. Please refer to the instructions and download links provided hereThe minimum supported firmware version supported by Signagelive is 7.1.65 (8.0.102 for LS4 and HD4 models, with 8.2.72 being the recommended version), please ensure your device is using that firmware version.
What do I need?
To configure your display, you will need a Brightsign device, for a full list of supported models, please read this article.
You will require the following in order to complete the setup:
- A note of the serial number/s for your device/s (these are labelled on the device, and appear on the Boot screen as well)
- HDMI connection to display
- Wired network connection
- Micro SD card
How do I install Signagelive on my Brightsign device?
Please Note
If your player is currently added to BSN.cloud provisioning and network menus it will need to be removed and factory reset, otherwise there will be a conflict with B-Deploy.Firstly, you will need to insert a blank SD card formatted to FAT32 into each BrightSign device that you would like to configure.
After that, you can follow the steps below:
- Select Add Player (If you are unsure of where this is, please see this guide)
- Click the BrightSign (Automated with B-Deploy) icon.
- Enter the Serial Number(s) for the Device(s) you would like to register.*
- Set the time zone.
- Configure the Wifi/Wired, DHCP and Proxy settings*
- Set Video, Audio, and Screen Rotation options
- Enter the Player Address details
- Enter the Signagelive Licence code/s, or Select Existing
Once you have completed the above, power on your BrightSign device/s. When they connect Signagelive will automatically install. It will take a few minutes for Signagelive to install. Once complete a green tick will appear on the screen.
Please Note
These settings should be configured for the site where the device(s) will be installed. Otherwise, they will not connect and download Signagelive. How to add multiple players
The steps below will help you add one or multiple players for the first time:
- Within your desired Signagelive network, please click on either the Network > Manage menu or the Settings > Licences menu. Either route will take you to the same process, so it is up to you on which of these methods you select.
- Within either of these areas, select the Blue Plus Button (blue button with +) and click Player.
At this stage You will now be presented with a full range of hardware manufacturers and operating systems that applies to the Signagelive Media Player options. Please now select the BrightSign (Automated with B-Deploy) option and proceed with the following steps:
- Select “Upload a .CSV of Player Details”.
- Before clicking “Upload a .CSV of Player Details”, if you have not done this process before you will need to click “Download a .CSV Template” and this will download a file named “bDeployCSVUploadTemplate.csv” to your local computer.
Please Note
We recommend the use of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel to open and edit your “bDeployCSVUploadTemplate.csv” file. Other applications are available, however, these being the most commonly used for such a process. With the “bDeployCSVUploadTemplate.csv” file now open in a suitable software that allows you to read and edit the .CSV, you will see that we provide you with the following columns that need to be completed per device - hardwareId,licenceCode,name,address1,address2,town,postcode,county,country,timezone,networkType,ssid,passphrase,useDHCP,ipAddress,defaultGateway,dns1,dns2,subnetMask,proxyServer,timeServer,videoResolution,videoColourSpace,videoBitDepth,audioEnabled,videoTransparency,screenRotation,refCode1,refCode2,refCode3,refCode4,refCode5,refCode6,refCode7,refCode8,refCode9,refCode10,tags
- Please now complete the appropriate information for the number of Players you wish to mass upload to your Signagelive network as per the provided rows and when complete please ensure your .CSV file is saved. You may need to export this out of your selected editing tool and therefore ensure you export as a .CSV.
- Please check the list of timezones supported by Brightsign. The value in the TZ Name column is the value needed in your .CSV file.
This is an example of how the CSV file could look once it is filled out:
hardwareId,licenceCode,name,address1,address2,town,postcode,county,country,timezone,networkType,ssid,passphrase,useDHCP,ipAddress,defaultGateway,dns1,dns2,subnetMask,proxyServer,timeServer,videoResolution,videoColourSpace,videoBitDepth,audioEnabled,videoTransparency,screenRotation,refCode1,refCode2,refCode3,refCode4,refCode5,refCode6,refCode7,refCode8,refCode9,refCode10,tags

- You will now need to go back and click the “Upload a .CSV of Player Details” button that you previously saw in the process, then select your saved .CSV file and this will proceed to allow you to check your added information.
- Once you have gone through this process you will be provided with a summary of the details in your .CSV in our user interface where you can amend and if you're happy, please now click the Add Player(s) button to proceed.
- Once this has been done you will need to ensure that the details that appear on Signagelive match and once you have confirmed they do you can then click add players and they will be uploaded and activated.
- Once you have completed the above, power on your BrightSign device/s. When they connect Signagelive will automatically install. It will take a few minutes for Signagelive to install. Once complete a green tick will appear on the screen.
Please Note
These settings should be configured for the site where the device(s) will be installed. Otherwise, they will not connect and download Signagelive. If on the upload of the CSV you upload fields that are longer than the allowed length they will be shortened automatically.
