Signagelive users can now display weather information in French! This exciting update expands the reach and usability of Signagelive's weather widgets, making digital signage even more engaging for diverse audiences. This article guides you through the simple steps to add and customise these widgets, ensuring your weather displays are both informative and accessible.

New French Language Support

The latest Signagelive update introduces French language support for weather widgets. This means any text-based weather information, from daily forecasts to temperature readings, can now be displayed in French. This update applies to newly added widgets/apps from the Signagelive marketplace. Existing weather widgets will need to be replaced with new ones to access the French language option.

Step-by-Step Guide: Adding and Customising Weather Apps

  1. Access the Marketplace: Navigate to the Content > Playlists > Create/Edit section in your Signagelive network and click the "Marketplace" button in the top left corner.

  2. Select a Weather Widget: Scroll down to find the weather widget section. You can choose between a "flat style" or a "realistic style," both of which now support French.

  3. Choose Layout: Select either a landscape or portrait layout to suit your display needs.

  4. Add to Signagelive: Click "Add to Signagelive" to add the selected widget to your asset library.

  5. Edit Widget Properties: In your asset library, drag and drop the newly added weather widget into a playlist. Double-click the widget to edit its properties.

  6. Location Settings: By default, the widget displays weather information for the United States. Uncheck "Use player address" to manually input a specific location. You can use a postcode or county for more granular detail. Remember to hit "Refresh" to update the preview.

  7. Language Selection: In the properties panel, find the "Language" dropdown menu. You will now see "French" as an option, alongside other languages like Spanish and German. Select "French" and refresh to see the changes.

  8. Temperature and Address: Customize the temperature values and add your address information for a more precise location.

  9. Player Address Option: If you've already entered address information on the player itself (in the site and contact details tab), you can simply tick the "Use player address" box to automatically populate the widget with that information.

  10. Save and Publish: Once you’ve configured the widget to your liking, save your changes and publish the playlist to your player.

This update makes Signagelive even more versatile and user-friendly. By following these simple steps, you can easily add and customise weather widgets with French language support, enhancing your digital signage and keeping your audience informed.
