If you're using a Samsung Media Player with Signagelive and you've noticed the mute icon staying on the screen without disappearing, it can be frustrating, especially when trying to display your media content.

The icon can sometimes appear on the screen, even when you're not actively trying to mute anything. This issue has been reported to us and raised with Samsung. Our advice in this scenario is as follows:

Step 1: Check the "Sources" Settings

  1. With the Samsung remote control; access the Sources menu on your media player.

  2. Please now cycle through the various sources (HDMI etc) and check if any of them are actively muted. You can usually tell if a source is muted because the mute icon will appear next to the source name or signal indicator on the screen.

  3. If you find a source that’s muted, unmute it by selecting the Mute button on the remote when on that source. After unmuting, check if the mute icon disappears from the screen.

If cycling through the sources and unmuting them doesn’t resolve the issue, you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Set the Volume to 0

  1. Use the Samsung remote control to lower the volume of the media player all the way to 0.

Performing these steps should correct the issue of seeing the Mute icon reappearing on your Samsung media player screen.
