The System Tab within the Player Manager allows you to view your Player's system details. In the following article, we'll review the various sections of information found on the System Tab to help you understand.
System Stats
After your Player reboots for the first time following activation on your Signagelive Network, its System Stats will become visible. The System Stats overview provides key information about your Player's performance, including:
CPU Usage | The percentage of your Player's processor currently in use. |
RAM Usage | The amount of active memory your Player is utilising. |
Memory Usage | This is likely the same as RAM Usage; we recommend you check the source for clarification if these are intended to be distinct metrics. |
Temperature | The current operating temperature of your Player. |
Hardware Section
The Hardware section provides detailed information about your Player's hardware components, including:
Type | Identifies the Signagelive Player type (eg, Samsung, LG, BrightSign, Philips, etc) |
Hardware ID | This is a unique identifier assigned to the specific hardware device. |
Model | This indicates the specific model name or number of the media player hardware. |
Manufacturer | This specifies the company that produced the media player hardware. |
CPU | This names the central processing unit (processor) installed in the media player. |
CPU (Speed) | This indicates the clock speed at which the CPU operates, typically measured in GHz. |
RAM | This displays the total amount of random access memory (RAM) installed in the device. |
RAM (Used) | This shows the amount of RAM currently being utilised by the system and running applications. |
Disk | This indicates the total storage capacity of the primary disk drive in the media player. |
Disk (Used) | This displays the amount of disk space that files and the operating system currently occupy. |
Resolution | This shows the display output's pixel dimensions, typically in width x height (e.g., 1920x1080). |
Monitors | This provides details for each connected display, including its identifying name, physical arrangement relative to others, and its pixel resolution. |
Software Section
The Software section shows all information relevant to the Signagelive software applied, such as:
Signagelive Client Version | This indicates the specific version number of the Signagelive software running on your media player. |
Operating System (OS) Name | This specifies the name of the operating system installed on your media player (e.g., Windows, Android etc). |
Operating System (OS) Version | This shows the particular version or build number of the operating system running on your media player. |
Signagelive Setup Rotation | This indicates the screen orientation (e.g., landscape or portrait) configured within the Signagelive software. |
Native Portrait Rotation | This denotes whether the device's operating system is inherently set to a portrait display orientation. |
Volume | This displays the current audio output level set on the media player. |
Mute Status | This indicates whether the audio output of the media player is currently muted or unmuted. |
Screen Status | This shows the current state of the display connected to the media player, such as on or off. |
PM Mode | This specifies the media player's current power management setting, such as normal operation or a low-power state. |
Firmware Version | This refers to the version of the embedded software that controls the fundamental operations of the media player's hardware. |
System Settings | This broadly refers to a collection of configurations and preferences applied at the media player's operating system level. |
Installed Software | This lists other applications that have been installed on the media player in addition to the Signagelive client. (eg. Codec Packs) |
Network Section
The Network section shows all information relevant to the Player’s network connection, whether that is via wired or wireless connection. You will see the following information:
IP Address | The IP address is a unique numerical label that identifies your Signagelive device on a network and allows it to communicate. |
Subnet Mask | The subnet mask defines which part of an IP address refers to the network and which part identifies the specific device within that network. |
Default Gateway | The default gateway is the IP address of the device, usually a router, that forwards traffic from your local network to other networks, like the internet. |
DNS 1 | DNS 1 is the primary server that translates human-readable domain names into machine-readable IP addresses for your device. |
DNS 2 | DNS 2 is the secondary DNS server that acts as a backup to translate domain names into IP addresses if the primary server is unavailable. |
The Timezone section allows you to choose the Timezone for your Player.
Setting the correct timezone on your Signagelive Player is crucial to ensuring your content displays at the correct times. If the timezone is wrong, your content may not appear as scheduled.
