Requirements before you begin:

  • You must have Data Integrations enabled on your Signagelive Network. For more information on this please view the How to access Data Integrations article.

  • You must have a SharePoint account that can authorize the API access with a created Page

Utilising Signagelive’s Data Integration application in conjunction with the SharePoint News Widget, you can now display news items from your SharePoint site on your Signagelive Players. This article will outline how to configure your SharePoint integration and display your SharePoint content on your Signagelive Players.

Adding the SharePoint integration to your Signagelive Network

  1. Log into your Signagelive Network

  2. Click on the Menu button in the top left corner and switch to the Data Integrations application

  3. Use the search bar to search for SharePoint, click on it, then click Add

Upon following the steps above, you will have the SharePoint integration successfully added to your Data Integrations application.

    1. If you have not yet added any Microsoft login credentials, you can do so by clicking on the Add Account button to the right of the Account drop-down menu

  6. From the Sites drop-down, select the sites you wish to display

  7. Under Max Items, select the maximum amount of news items you’d like displayed

  8. Under Max Age (days) select the maximum age of news items you’d like to be displayed

  9. Under Preview, hit Refresh Preview and you should immediately begin to see your news items in the preview below

  10. Once you’re happy, hit Save in the top right corner and then toggle your Sync to the ON position to begin actively syncing your SharePoint site

Using the SharePoint News Widget

Once you have configured your SharePoint integration within the Data Integrations application (and providing it is actively syncing/returning data), you’re ready to begin displaying this data on your Signagelive Players.

  1. Search for the SharePoint News Widget and add this to your Signagelive Network

  2. Once added to your Network, add the SharePoint News Widget to a Playlist of your choosing

  3. Double-click on the Widget in your Playlist (or open the Widget Properties)

  4. On the Preview tab, you should immediately see your News Feed appear in the relevant drop-down below

  5. Select your News Feed then hit the Refresh button, you should then see a preview

  6. Once you successfully see a Preview, you can continue setting the other Properties for this Widget (such as Duration, etc)
