Please Note
If your Samsung device is on a higher firmware version than the one provided, please consult with your support team to discuss how we can assist you.
Where can I find the correct Firmware files?
Your support team can provide you with a link to the latest available firmware files for your Samsung Tizen display, as well as the correct folder structure required for the update.
Please Note
The firmware provided is the latest version we have tested and approved, not necessarily the latest available from the manufacturer.
Once you have downloaded the correct firmware files to your USB device, you will need to make sure they match the required folder structure. The instructions below will help you prepare your device and update the firmware.
Performing the Firmware Update
For all Samsung Tizen displays, you can perform firmware updates by following the instructions below:
Please Note
We recommend you wait at least 30 seconds following the insertion of your USB device to allow it to properly initialise and be available for use.
First, prepare your USB drive by ensuring the folder path is correct:
[Software Name] > image > [firmware_file.msd]
Insert the prepared USB drive into the Tizen display.
Switching to an input such as HDMI.
Press Menu, Select Support > Software Update.
You now need to select Update Now.
Select Yes to search the USB drive for the update files and then Okay to confirm.
The screen will update the firmware and then reboot itself.
After reboot, you can confirm the new version here: Menu > Support > Contact Samsung.
Finally, remove the USB drive from the Tizen panel.
Please Note
During the early stages of Tizen OS, we experienced a lot of system level compatibility issues with our client and the URL launcher. As a result, your target firmware should exceed version 2040 for optimal results
