When managing your Signagelive network, you will see three distinct date types associated with your licenses. Understanding these dates helps you keep track of your active players and subscription validity.
What do the different license dates mean?
To help you manage your subscription easily, here is a breakdown of what each date represents in the Signagelive user interface:
License Date | What it means |
Allocated | The exact date a license was first added to your network. |
Registered | The date the license was first activated against a media player. |
Expires | The final day of your license's validity, calculated directly from its Registered date. |
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What happens to my remaining time when I renew or convert a trial license?
When you convert a trial license or renew an existing license, the registered date of the new license automatically takes effect from the expiration date of the license you are replacing. Signagelive does this deliberately to ensure you never lose any remaining validity period or paid time on your existing license.
Does a license lose validity if it is not actively being used?
Yes. The validity period of your license begins ticking down the moment you register it for the first time. Once registered, it will continue to count down continuously, even if the license is not actively assigned to a player (for example, if it is sitting in a deactivated amber state).
