How do I install Signagelive on my Sony Player?

Please Note

When installing Signagelive on a Sony device, the Signagelive installation must happen before you complete the initial Sony installation steps or you’ll be met with an “Installation Failed” error message (more info can be found here). Follow the steps in this section closely in this article to ensure that Signagelive is installed correctly.

  1. Download the Signagelive Sony client from here

  2. Copy the downloaded signagelive.pkg file to the root of the USB drive

  3. Insert your USB drive containing the signagelive.pkg file into one of the USB ports of your Sony BRAVIA device

  4. Power on your Sony device with the USB drive inserted

  5. Do not select your Language yet, wait a few seconds and then the following prompts will appear:

    • “Allow NodeRuntimeNormal to access photos, media and files on your device?” - Select Allow

    • “Allow NodeRuntimePrivilege to access photos, media and files on your device?” - Select Allow

  6. At this stage, the BRAVIA Software Installer will launch and your Player will automatically detect the signagelive.pkg file on the root of your USB drive connected to the device

  7. Select Install when prompted

  8. Select Accept

  9. Select Install again when prompted

  10. Select Activate this device admin app

  11. Once installation is complete, remove your USB drive and select OK

  12. Your device will now restart and then return to the Language selection screen

  13. Once again, do not select your Language yet as Signagelive will soon auto-launch

  14. When Signagelive auto-launches, please press the Back button on your Sony remote control, and proceed with Sony’s Initial Setup configuration

  15. Select the Language you wish to proceed with

  16. Select Skip when prompted to sign in with a Google account

  17. Read and Accept the terms and conditions

  18. Set your Google Services preferences then select Accept

  19. Press the middle/enter button on your remote control key 4 times to proceed through the Sony features included with this panel

  20. Press Start

  21. Scroll down to the bottom of the Privacy Policy page and press Agree

  22. Select your desired Power Saving options, this will determine the brightness of the panel

  23. Specify how your display is positioned from the options supplied, this will determine the audio output of the device

  24. Press Next

  25. Press Complete

  26. Upon completion of the above, you’ll be taken to the Sony BRAVIA home menu

  27. Select Apps

  28. Scroll down and find the Signagelive application, Select it

  29. You’ll be taken to the Signagelive Settings Menu, at this stage set your Screen Rotation and Rotate Videos preferences then hit Save

  30. At this stage, you’ll be presented with your 6-digit activation code, and you can proceed with activating your Player against a licence on your Signagelive Network.

After completing the steps above, you will have successfully configured Signagelive on your Sony BRAVIA Player.
