The colour-coded status indicators on your Player Dashboard give you an at-a-glance overview of your network's health. This guide explains what each colour means, how to troubleshoot common issues, and customise the alert triggers.
What do the different colours on the Dashboard mean?
The colours on your Dashboard represent the overall health of your Players based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
π’ Green: System Normal. Players are operating within healthy parameters.
π‘ Amber: Warning. A percentage of Players are reporting a potential issue.
π΄ Red: Alert. A percentage of Players are reporting a critical issue requiring action.
How to Troubleshoot Alerts and Warnings
An Amber (Warning) or Red (Alert) status is most often caused by a Player losing power, network connectivity, or failing to synchronise with new content. Follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.
1. Check Player Power
Check that the Player is powered on.
Confirm the power cable is securely connected to both the Player and a working power outlet.
Verify that the screen connected to the Player is on and displaying content or an error message.
2. Verify Network Connectivity
For wired connections, ensure the Ethernet cable is securely plugged into the Player and the network port.
For Wi-Fi connections, check that there are no local access issues and the signal is strong.
Confirm that local network settings have not been changed and that the Player has internet access if required.
3. Confirm Content Publication
Navigate to Reports > Queues > Network Queues to confirm the content has been fully published.
If content appears to be stuck in the queue, try re-saving or re-publishing it.
How can I configure when these Alerts and Warnings show?
You can customise your Dashboard's KPIs to trigger Alerts and Warnings based on the percentage of Players on your network experiencing an issue. To customise your KPIs, navigate to Settings > KPIs and adjust the percentage thresholds for Warnings and Alerts.
Key Performance Indicators available to monitor are:
Network Connections
Network Content Status
Missed Content Checks
Missed Daily Content Check Alert Period
Missed Health Checks
CPU Usage
Memory Usage
Disk Usage
Temperature
Reboots
After you configure these metrics, your system will alert you to players who have reported a value lower than the value on this page. This page will enable you to keep informed about devices that are not performing at 100%.
