Asset Validity allows you to set specific start and end dates for your content within a Playlist. This ensures your media (images, videos, etc.) only plays when relevant, automatically disappearing or appearing as needed. It's perfect for promotions, time-sensitive announcements, or seasonal campaigns!
Ways that Asset Validity can benefit you:
Based on the understanding of asset validity in Signagelive (setting start and end dates for content within a playlist), here are some examples of how it can be used effectively:
Promotional Campaigns:
Example: A "Summer Sale" media asset that automatically shows on June 1st and vanishes on August 31st.
Benefit: Ensures promotions are active only during their specified period without manual intervention, preventing outdated offers from being displayed.
Daily/Weekly Specials:
Example: A "Monday Special" menu item that only plays on Mondays, or a "Lunch Deal" that only displays between 12 PM and 2 PM on weekdays.
Benefit: Enables dynamic daily or weekly updates without the necessity of creating separate daily playlists or manually switching content.

How can I set the validity for one Playlist Media Asset?
To set validity for a single asset in your Playlist:
Log in to your Signagelive Network.
From the top navigation menu, select Content > Playlists > Create/Edit
Open Your Playlist: Select the name of the Playlist that contains the asset you wish to edit. This will open the Playlist editor.
Select the Asset: In the Playlist timeline (the central area), click on the specific media asset you wish to add validity to. This will open its properties panel.
Navigate to the Validity Section: In the properties panel, look for a section titled "Validity" or similar (it might be found under "Advanced" or a specific tab).
Set Start & End Dates:
Click on the "Start Date" field to select the date and time you want the asset to begin playing.
Click on the "End Date" field to select the date and time you want the asset to stop playing.
Save Changes: Click the "Save" button (typically located at the top or bottom of the Playlist editor) to apply the validity settings.
How can I set the validity for multiple Playlist Media Assets?
You can also set validity for several assets simultaneously, saving you time!
Log in to your Signagelive Network.
From the top navigation menu, select Content > Playlists > Create/Edit
Open Your Playlist: Click on the name of the playlist containing the assets you wish to edit.
Select Multiple Assets:
Press and hold the CTRL key (Windows) or CMD key (Mac) while clicking on each individual asset in the Playlist timeline to which you wish to apply validity.
Alternatively, you can click and drag your mouse to select a series of consecutive assets.
Accessing the Multi-Edit Panel: Once several assets are selected, a shared properties panel should appear (often on the right side).
Navigating to the Validity Section: In this multi-edit panel, locate the "Validity" section.
Setting Start & End Dates:
Set the desired "Start Date" and "End Date" for all the selected assets.
Save Changes: Click the "Save" button to apply the validity settings to all the selected assets.
Important Note: When setting validity for multiple assets, they will all share the same start and end dates. If you need different validities for each, you'll need to set them individually.
