Conditional Playback allows you to display specific content exclusively to Players that meet certain criteria. By incorporating "conditions" into your media assets based on Player Tags, you can create highly targeted and dynamic digital signage experiences!
What is a Condition?
A condition is a rule you apply to an asset within a Playlist. This rule dictates whether that asset will play on a Player based on whether the Player has (or doesn't have) specific tags. If a Player doesn't meet the condition, that asset will simply be skipped, and the Playlist will move to the next valid piece of content.
Ways that Asset Conditions can benefit you:
Conditions are incredibly powerful for tailoring your messaging:
Location-Specific Promotions:
Scenario: You have different promotions for stores in "London" versus "Manchester."
Condition: Tag Players in London with "London_Store" and apply a condition to your London promo asset: "This asset will play on: London_Store."
Audience-Specific Information:
Scenario: Show internal HR updates only on screens in employee break rooms, which are tagged "Staff_Only."
Condition: Apply a condition to the HR update asset: "This asset will play on: Staff_Only"

Important Note: When setting the conditions for multiple assets, they share the same tag scenarios. If you require distinct tag scenarios for each, you must input them individually.
Additional Tagging (The Secondary Layer)
Sometimes, your content might need to meet multiple criteria. By adding multiple conditions to a single asset, you can add a secondary layer of tagging to your conditions.
This enables highly precise content targeting, ensuring your messages are consistently seen by the appropriate audience on the correct screens.
Ways that Advanced Tagging can benefit you:
Incorporating a secondary layer of Advanced Tagging into your conditions offers you an extra degree of control and flexibility regarding how your assets operate according to your preferences.
Example 1: Players in the UK that also have a Cafe
The asset will play on:
Players matching all tags below:
Tags: "UK_Store"
Advanced Tagging ENABLED
Exclude players matching the following tags:
Tags: 'No_Cafe'
Example 2: If running content for the North / South of England, and wish to exclude a specific city from the deal
The asset will play on:
Players matching any tag below
Tags: Region1, Region2
Advanced Tagging ENABLED
Exclude players matching the following tags:
Tags: City1
The above example will play on all players tagged "Region1" OR "Region2" except those tagged "City1."
To apply Advanced Tagging conditions to your media assets, please do the following:
You can apply this feature by ticking the 'Advanced Tagging' box under the Condition tab of any asset.
Once on the Condition Tab of the media asset, please enable Advanced Tagging
Enter your tags into the Exclude players matching the following tags box, or select them from the dropdown
Your asset will now play based on the first and second conditional settings you have applied to these fields (Play on players matching ALL or ANY Tags below + Exclude from players using these specific tags).
Once satisfied, you can click the OK button, and your advanced scheduling will be applied to the selected media asset under the specified conditions.
Please Note:
Advanced Tagging isn't supported when you apply conditions to multiple players (select multiple assets using the tickboxes next to each one, then click Properties > Conditions). However, you can add more tagging rules to a single asset by double-clicking it after you've applied conditions to multiple assets.
