There are several known issues and limitations that the Signagelive Team is aware of when using Signagelive for Windows/PC Appliance. See below for a complete list:

Signagelive for Windows 11 version 25H2 Support

Due to Microsoft’s permanent removal of the WMIC (Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line) tool in Windows 11 version 25H2, the Signagelive for Windows (Electron) client is not supported on this version or any subsequent builds.

  • The Issue: The player requires WMIC for hardware authentication. Without it, the player cannot detect vital system information and will fail to connect or activate.

  • Current Status: There is no workaround for 25H2 as the component has been removed from the OS architecture.

  • Recommendation: We strongly advise customers to remain on Windows 11 23H2 or 24H2 (where WMIC can still be manually enabled) and to disable automatic feature updates to prevent players from upgrading to unsupported versions.

To mitigate this from becoming an issue, please always purchase approved hardware from Signagelive-authorised resellers. If you have any questions, please contact our sales team.

Issues Connecting with Some Monitor Models

When connecting to certain models of monitors, specific settings may exhibit issues. Here are the known issues and accompanying workarounds:

  • The Display Signagelive across multiple monitors option doesn't work in certain scenarios. There are some prerequisites for this option to work:

    • Windows desktop must be extended. To configure this, right-click on your Desktop and select "Display Settings". On the "Settings > Display" window, select the "Extend these displays" option under "Multiple displays".

    • Your primary monitor must be screen #1 in Windows Display settings. To configure this, right-click on your Desktop and select "Display Settings". On the "Settings > Display" window, click on the display number 1 at the top and check the "Make this my main display option" under "Multiple displays".

    • Your primary monitor and screen #1 must be the screen on the left in Windows Display settings. To configure this, right-click on your Desktop and select "Display Settings". On the "Settings > Display" window, drag and drop the screens to arrange them, so the screens are in a 1-2-3... left-to-right order. Once you have dragged your screens into the right configuration for your display, click "Identify" and make sure the order of the screens is as desired.

    • Font scale must be set to 100%. To configure this, right-click on your Desktop and select "Display Settings". On the "Settings > Display" window, select "100%" on the "Change the size of text, apps and other items" under "Scale and layout".

  • Remote Screenshots look zoomed in, cut and/or are misaligned.

    • Font scale must be set to 100%. To configure this, right click on your Desktop and select "Display Settings". On the "Settings > Display" window, select "100%" on the "Change the size of text, apps and other items" option under "Scale and layout".
