This article provides instructions for setting up Signagelive on LG webOS 3.2, 4.0, 4.1, and 6.0 displays. The guide covers the full installation and configuration process from the display's 'out of the box' state.

Please Note: If you are installing multiple devices, it is possible to partially automate this process. See this article about Auto-deploying via a USB stick.

Prerequisites

  • A compatible LG webOS 3.2, 4.0, 4.1, or 6.0 display. Supported models available here

  • An LG remote control

  • A USB keyboard (optional)

  • An active wired or wireless network connection.

Installation and Configuration

Important Firmware Information

  • webOS 4.0, 4.1, & 6.0: It is strongly recommended to upgrade the display to the minimum supported firmware before beginning installation. The latest firmware can be downloaded here.

  • WP600 (webOS 6.0): This model must be manually upgraded to firmware version 03.90.80 or newer. Earlier versions will result in a permanent black screen when the Signagelive client launches. The required firmware is available for download here: WP600 Firmware.

1. Initial Display Setup (from an out the box state)

  1. Power on the LG webOS display.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to select the Language, Continent, Country, and Timezone.

  3. Select ‘OK’ to confirm.

2. SI Server Configuration

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote control (typically a cog icon ⚙️).

  2. Navigate to EZ Settings > SI Server Settings.

  3. Set Application Launch Mode to Local.

  4. Set Fully Qualified Domain Name to On.

  5. In the URL field, enter the following address: https://clients.signagelive.com/lgapp.zip

  6. Set Local Application Upgrade to Remote.

  7. Select Confirm, then select OK.

  8. Power the display off and then on again.

Please Note: After the client upgrade is complete, your .ZIP file will display as an IPK file instead. You can read more about why this happens here.

3. Signagelive Application Settings

After rebooting, the Signagelive application will launch. Configure the following settings:

  1. Verify the correct Timezone is selected.

  2. Set the desired Screen Rotation.

  3. Enable or Disable Remote Firmware Updates as required.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and select Save.
