Requirements before you begin:

The Hivestack app allows you the ability to display your Hivestack content as an asset within Signagelive. This app can exist within a playlist with other content or as a standalone asset if you prefer.

What are the supported players?

Not all platforms currently support the Hivestack App, it will only work on the following players:

  • Brightsign (video not supported on firmware 7.x)

  • Approved PC's - Electron

  • LG WebOS (video not supported on webOS 1.0 and 2.0)

  • Samsung Tizen (video not supported on Tizen 2.4)

  • Philips (video not supported on D line)

  • IAdea / Viewsonic (refer to the "Please Note" section directly below for an important function limitation)

Please Note

The Iadea and Viewsonic operating system does not support asset skipping. What this means as far as the Hivestack widget is concerned, is that in the event no ads are being served up from Hivestack, a black screen will show each time the Hivestack widget is due to play in your playlist.

You will first need to download the App from the Signagelive Marketplace. You can access the Marketplace from the Playlist editor within the Signagelive User Interface - it will be an option on the left-hand side.

There are 2 versions of the Hivestack app available for you to use; Portrait and Landscape. Select your preferred app - so for Landscape ad content, you will want to use the Landscape version and vice versa. You can now find this asset within the “Recently added” assets list within Signagelive.

Please Note

If you are using a Samsung player, and are planning on using the Portrait version of the Hivestack App, you will need to launch Signagelive (via the launcher on the device) with the Portrait Client/URL. http://clients.signagelive.com/samsungsoc/latest/v4/portrait

Assigning your UUID

Once you have added your Hivestack app to Signagelive, you will need to enter your UUID (Universal Unique Identifier). You can find your UUID within Hivestack. Your UUID specifies what content should be delivered to the Hivestack app or to your player.

You can assign your UUID in one of two places.

Assigning UUID to the App

By Double clicking on your Hivestack app, you can enter your UUID credentials into the App directly. By doing this, wherever your App is published will be using the same UUID. You can add multiple Hivestack apps with different UUID per app.

Assigning UUID to your player

You can assign a UUID to a player rather than an app. If you are opting to define the UUID by player, you can leave the text field within the Hivestack app blank. If assigning a UUID on the player - this will override the UUID if it is also defined on the app, so UUIDs on a player are used as the priority.

  • Select a player from your Player Dashboard or Network Manager and click the three dots to the furthest right of the device.

  • Within the Player Manager, select the “Site and contact” tab. You can then enter your UUID into “Reference 1” within references.

Please Note

You will need a Hivestack account to use the Hivestack app This must be “Reference 1” and cannot be any other reference code.

If publishing this asset to multiple players or new players and you want to assign the UUID based on the App/Widget Preference- you will need to check if there is already a Reference Code 1 value assigned - as this will be the priority UUID if it exists on a player.

Any player that receives HiveStack content via the Hivestack app will automatically search for the UUID on that device and display the content from this UUID directly.
