When you have created your Playlist and/or Layouts and connected Players to your Signagelive Network, then you are ready to schedule and publish your first content. If you are at this stage, then the following guide will take you through the scheduling and publishing process, showing you the different methods you can use.
To help you with this process, we’ve broken the guide down into different stages to give you the best possible guidance on completing this process without issue.
Please Note: This article will take you through the steps of publishing a Fullscreen Default Playlist only; however, there are other methods as per the options below:
Step 1: Requirements before you Schedule your Content
The following list of things you will need before you schedule your Content:
To complete this process, you'll need to create at least one Playlist on your Signagelive Network or, as well, a Layout if that is your intended content style.
When you wish to schedule content for deployment, you must have registered and activated at least one Media Player on your Signagelive Network.
Step 2: Beginning to schedule your Content
Now that you have read, understood and met the Requirements before you Schedule your Content then you are ready to work through the following steps. To begin the process of publishing, please carry out the following steps:
Within your Signagelive Network, please go to the Content menu.
Within the Content menu drop-down that appears, please now select Publish
Now, within the Publish Manager, go to the 1. When do you want this content to play? section and select the option - When nothing else is scheduled
Now, in section 2. What do you want to publish? please select the Playlist option.
The Select Playlist window will now appear, prompting you to select the Playlist you wish to publish. Please find that Playlist and, when selected, press the OK button.
You will now see a preview of your selected playlist.
Now, go to section 3. Which Players do you want to publish to? When this appears on your screen, click the Select Players button.
The Select Players window will now appear. Please select the Players you wish to schedule and publish your Playlist. Once your Players are selected, please press the green OK button to be able to proceed.
You are now almost finished. You can decide to either click Review & Publish to see a complete summary of your proposed schedule or, alternatively, just click Publish to Players to send it to the scheduling configured for your selected Players.
Well done, you've now completed this process.
Step 3: Waiting for your content to appear on your Players
Now you’ve published, your publication will be pushed to our server and will shortly be sent to your Player, ready for the next Content Check for the Player/s to occur. The time the publication takes to be displayed on your Player/s will rely on the following criteria:
The frequency of Content Checks set on your underlying Player/s
The overall size of new content required for the Player/s to download
The speed of the Player/s internet connection
