This article will guide you through setting the player timezone for your IAdea, Planar, and Viewsonic devices directly from your Signagelive network. This method is convenient for managing timezone settings, especially for large deployments.
Important Note: The ability to set the player timezone via a "Configured Timezone" setting in your Signagelive Network is specifically available for SMIL-based players, which include IAdea, Planar, and Viewsonic solutions.
How do I set a Configured Timezone?
To set a configured timezone, please follow these steps:
Log in to your Signagelive network as a user or administrator.
Navigate to the Player you wish to change the timezone for. You can do this via your Player Dashboard or by going to Network > Manage in the top menu.
From the Player Dashboard: Locate the player you want to configure and click on its name or the "Edit" icon.
From Network > Manage: Use the search bar or filters to find your player, then click on its name to open its properties.
Once on the Player Properties page, click the "Connectivity" tab.
Within the Connectivity tab, locate the "Configured Timezone" dropdown menu.
Screenshot/Image Placeholder: (Here, you would ideally include a screenshot showing the "Connectivity" tab with the "Configured Timezone" dropdown highlighted.)
Select the desired timezone from the dropdown list. This list will include a comprehensive range of global time zones.
After selecting the timezone, click "Save" at the bottom of the Player Properties page to apply your changes.
The player will receive this updated timezone setting during its next content check-in with the Signagelive network. The change should take effect on the player automatically.
