Supported ChromeOS Players, features, and file types

Written by Ian Maison

Important

Google is removing support for Chrome Apps and migrating to Web Apps (see this article for more information). This means that when ChromeOS devices hit version 150, the Signagelive app will no longer function.

To ensure your devices remain functional until Signagelive releases our Isolated Web App, please ensure your devices are running on the Long Term Support Channel.

As of right now (April 2026), the Long Term Support Channel is currently running ChromeOS version 144, so any devices moved to this channel that can support this OS version and are on a lower ChromeOS version will update to this version. Any devices beyond version 144 that are migrated to the Long Term Support Channel will not downgrade to version 144, but as long as they are not yet on ChromeOS version 150 (due to be released first to any devices on the Stable Channel on July 14 2026) they will continue to function.

Signagelive is due to release the new Isolated Web App version of our ChromeOS app before ChromeOS version 150 hits the Long Term Support Channel in October 2026.

You can use Signagelive on any ChromeOS-based Player, so there is no current list of supported models available. However, you can check a list of Google-approved ChromeOS devices here. We also have a list of ChromeOS Devices that Signagelive has tested here.

Please Note

The Chromecast is not a supported player with the Signagelive client
