What is a Web Trigger?

A Web Trigger within Signagelive is how we allow real-time triggering of cached content on your Signagelive Players. These triggers can come from anything connected to the web that can interact with our Web Triggers API, whether that is a Lift and Learn platform to compare products in a retail store, a Mobile Application to show a new model in a showroom or a Beacon that triggers content when a user enters a room.

How do I use Web Triggers?

To use Web Triggers, you will need to use the Web Triggers API to configure whichever method you wish to create this ‘trigger’. All information regarding the development and use of Web Triggers API can be found at the Signagelive Build Site and Web Trigger specific information can be found here.

There is also a helpful Slack Community where you can discuss your ideas and requirements directly with our Development Team in real-time.

I’ve set up my Web Triggers, what next?

Once you have created your Web Trigger, you will need to program Signagelive to respond. This can be done by creating an interrupt to your published content. There are a few ways in which this can be done, so take a look at the following links to learn more about:

Examples of Web Triggers in action can be seen in the following videos:
