To set up your Nexmosphere device with BrightSign, you will need the following items.
- A BrightSign device
- A Nexmosphere controller
- A Nexmosphere element
- A screen
Please make sure that your BrightSign device has at least the minimum supported firmware. To check you have this firmware see our BrightSign configuration page.
Please note: Your BrightSign player must already be activated in Signagelive.
Your Nexmosphere controller
Your Nexmosphere controller will have multiple inputs (labeled 1 to 8 or more) which will allow you to connect your Nexmosphere elements.
Each input on the Nexmosphere controller input will be labeled and the below interface commands will work with these
- X-talk interface 001 5. X-talk interface 005
- X-talk interface 002 6. X-talk interface 006
- X-talk interface 003 7. X-talk interface 007
- X-talk interface 004 8. X-talk interface 008
Your Nexmosphere element
A Nexmosphere element is any device that is plugged into the above-mentioned interface. These include devices from the XN, XC, XM series and will be the item that is interacted with by a user. These devices include things like button pushes, IR receivers, and RFID sensors.
Setting up your interrupt in Signagelive
You will need to configure your Nexmosphere controller within the Signagelive serial devices dropdown in “settings”.
Select “Serial device” and create a new device by selecting the blue plus button and selecting “Create a new serial device”.
After you have named your serial device, enter the details below to configure your controller.
This is regardless of which controller you are using.
Baud rate: 115200
Parity: None
Flow control: None
EOL: CR+LF
Port: 2
Data bits: 8
Stop bits: 1
Protocol: ASCII
Delay: 115
Now that your serial device is configured, select “Publish” from the Content dropdown. Within publish, you will need to select the “As the result of a trigger” option.
You will now be able to select “Serial Device” as a start trigger and select the device you have created.
You will need to enter your start command. The start command will be a combination of the Xtalk input you have selected for your element and the elements code.
I.e. X001 (X-talk interface) A[1] (Element command) to make this input X001A[1]
- X-talk interface 001 5. X-talk interface 005
- X-talk interface 002 6. X-talk interface 006
- X-talk interface 003 7. X-talk interface 007
- X-talk interface 004 8. X-talk interface 008
Each element has its own element command which can be found on the quick start guides on Nexmospheres support documentation
https://nexmosphere.com/support-documentation/
Set your asset to play for your preferred considered duration, making sure this duration allows the published content to play as you would expect (see below)
You will now need to follow the process of completing steps 2 and 3 by selecting the content you would like to publish and the devices you would like to publish to.
Once the new content is published, you will be able to interrupt your regularly scheduled content via the Nexmosphere device.
