BrightSign - Configuring your device to work with Signagelive

This article should be used as a guide to assist you with setting up your BrightSign device to work with Signagelive.

The instructions will take you through installing and configuring Signagelive from the devices out the box state. If you have any issues during the process, please speak with our Support or Sales team for further advice.

Important Note: We recommend that you update your BrightSign device to the latest firmware before configuring Signagelive, you can download the latest firmware files here and instructions for the update process can be found here.

The minimum supported firmware version supported by Signagelive is 6.2.94, please ensure your device is using that or a later firmware version.

It’s also important that the timezone of your device is configured, which you can do either before or during the configuration of your BrightSign device using these instructions.

What do I need?

To configure your display, you will need a BrightSign device, for a full list of supported models, please read this article.

You will require the following in order to complete the setup:

  • Latest Signagelive BrightSign client version, downloadable here
  • HDMI connection to display
  • Wired network connection
  • Micro SD card

How do I install Signagelive on my BrightSign device?

Text instructions for the installation and configuration of your BrightSign device can be found below:

  • Power on your BrightSign device
  • Insert Micro SD card with timezone configuration files unzipped to its root
  • Power cycle your device (power off and on again)
  • Remove Micro SD card, insert into laptop, clear and add unzip latest Signagelive client version to root
  • Power cycle your device (power off and on again)

 

Your player will now launch and after downloading its content, will show the Signagelive activation code.This should then be activated on your Signagelive Network using one of your active licences and when the player next successfully performs its content check, you’ll see the green tick appear to let you know the display has been successfully connected to Signagelive.
