How do I publish a Playlist?

To begin publishing a playlist you will need to click on the Content menu and then select Publish and then Schedules & Interrupts.

When you have selected the Schedules & Interrupts option from the menu, you will be taken through a series of wizard prompts to help you setup and schedule your content. Each of the questions provided to you will come with a series of answers and you are required to click your desired option to proceed.

As a Reminder: To get to the Schedules/Interrupts options you will need to click on the following menus: Content > Publish.

Question 1: How do you want to show your content?

The first question you will be asked by the deployment wizard will be to confirm how you want to show your content. For this option you will need to select “As a Schedule” and you can confirm your selection by clicking the relevant button with your mouse.

Question 2: When do you want your schedule to start?

With the second question within the deployment wizard you will be asked when you would like your schedule to start. At this stage you will need to select between the following options:

  • Now: If you select this option then your schedule will begin at the point of deployment.
  • On a Specific Date: With this option you will need to provide a specific date and time that your schedule will begin.

For the purposes of this user manual we are selecting the “On a Specific Date” option and will be providing the schedule with a date and time that we wish for the content to start playing.


Question 3: Starting the Schedule On

The third question you will be asked by the deployment wizard if you have selected “On a Specific Date” is:

Here you will be asked to select when you would like your new schedule to start by setting a date and time. To achieve this you can use the calendar feature button to show up the relevant days of year and can confirm your selection by clicking on any of the dates.

When you have selected a date, you can amend the time by clicking on the relevant area and altering the hours, minutes and seconds. When you are happy with your selection you can click on the green OK button to proceed to the next question prompted by the deployment wizard


Question 4: When do you want your schedule to end?

With the fourth question within the deployment wizard you will be asked when you would like your schedule to end. At this stage you will need to select between the following options:

  • Run until further notice: If you select this option your schedule will continue running permanently until you decide you would like new content to be shown and a new schedule is deployed.
  • On a Specific Date: If you select this option you will be able to provide your schedule with a date and time you would like content to stop playing.

For the purposes of this user manual we are selecting the “On a Specific Date” option and will be providing the schedule with a date and time that we wish for the content to stop playing.


Question 5: Ending the Schedule On

With the next prompt you will be asked by the wizard if you have selected “On a Specific Date” previously is:

Here you will be asked to select when you would like your new schedule to end by setting a date and time. To achieve this you can use the calendar feature button to show up the relevant days of year and can confirm your selection by clicking on any of the dates.

You will also notice within the calendar drop-down that you can click the Forever button which will allow you to change from setting a end date and time and allow you to run your schedule until further notice.

When you have selected a date, you can amend the time by clicking on the relevant area and altering the hours, minutes and seconds. When you are happy with your selection you can click on the green OK button to proceed to the next question prompted by the deployment wizard


Question 6: What do you wish to show?

After setting both your start and end date and times for your schedule, you will now be asked by the wizard whether you would like to show your content as a Playlist or a Layout:

  • What is a Playlist? - A playlist is a collection of media assets that you have added to a timeline within the Playlist Creator that will run in a sequence of your choosing and will be displayed on your player as a fullscreen presentation or within a layout.
  • What is a Layout? - A layout is a presentation that can consist of mutizone content, which can include elements such as multiple playlists from the network, RSS Tickers and Images, Background Images and Widgets.

.. if you have selected Playlist

If you have selected Playlist from the “What do you wish to show?” prompt then after clicking this option you will be presented with the Choose a Player manager as shown below:

From the Choose a Playlist manager you will be able to search, organise and locate all of the playlists that have been added to your signagelive network. All of the playlists you see within this section will match that of the ones you have created within the Playlist Creator since the network has been created.

  1. To proceed you will need to click on the Playlist that you would like to assign as your default.
  2. There are two ways that you can select your playlist you can either ;
  • Double click your mouse on the desired playlist to proceed or
  • Click on your desired playlist once and it will be highlighted with a yellow colour.
  • You can then proceed by clicking on the green OK button to proceed.

When you have selected your playlist you will now be taken to the final deployment stage. At the final stage you can determine which of your registered players you would like to deploy your default content to.
