Using the Licence Manager

The Licence Manager is the area within your Signagelive Network where you will add, renew or remove any licences. Each Player (screen or media player) on your Signagelive Network requires a licence, so you will need to ensure that these licences remain active for your Players to show the content they are supposed to.

You can now ‘Request a Renewal’ for your Signagelive licence when it nears the end of its licence terms.

When a renewal is requested, an email will be sent to your local Signagelive team who will communicate with the correct partner to organise and confirm the purchase of each renewal licence.

Once confirmed with your partner, the licence will then be automatically applied to the existing licence.

You (and your reseller partner) will then receive an email notification to say that this renewal licence has been applied and no further action is required.

How do I know which Players can be Renewed?

Within the Licence Manager, we use the familiar traffic light colour code to highlight the state of each Player. See below for more details:

  • Green - represents an active licence (a Player has been activated against this particular licence)
  • Amber - represents a deactivated licence, meaning you can choose it to activate a Player against
  • Red - represents an expired licence, you will need to renew any expired licence to be able to activate a Player against it

 

Who can request this renewal?

Only Administrators with access to your Signagelive Network will be given the option to Request a Renewal licence for any of your Players.

 

How can I Request a Renewal for a single licence?

You can request a renewal for any Player that does not already have a renewal licence request in place.

Follow these steps to access the Licence Manager and Request a Renewal for a single Player:

  • Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator
  • Select Settings
  • Select Licences
  • Select the Context Menu (3 dots on the right side of each player) for a single licence
  • Select Request Renewal
    • Please note, you will only be able to request a renewal for any licence here that does not already have a licence renewal request in place
    • You may be shown the ‘existing unused renewals available’ if you have existing renewal licences on your Network, you can choose to continue by selecting ‘Yes’ or to cancel and use these licences instead by selecting ‘No’.
  • Select Yes to continue
  • Ensure that the licence shown in the list is the licence you wish to renew
  • Select the terms of the licence using the drop down menu (1,2,3,4 or 5 year licences available)
  • Select Request Renewals

 

You will be shown a notification to say your request has been successful and you will see a tick within the ‘Renewal Requested’ column of the Licence Manager.

How Can I request multiple Licence Renewals?

You can also select multiple Licences in the Licence Manager and use the filter menu to Request Renewals for each of the selected Licences.

Please Note: You will only be able to request the same term licence renewals for all selected using this method, if you wish to request different terms for multiple Licences, you should follow the instructions multiple times to place a number of different licence renewal requests.

 

Follow these steps to place a Renewal Request for multiple Players:

  • Log in to your Signagelive Network as an Administrator
  • Select Settings
  • Select Licences
  • Check the box to the left of any number of Licences you wish to request a renewal for
  • Select Request Renewals from the menu ribbon of the Licence Manager
    • Please note, you will only be able to request a renewal for any licence here that does not already have a licence renewal request in place
    • You may be shown the ‘existing unused renewals available’ if you have existing renewal licences on your Network, you can choose to continue by selecting ‘Yes’ or to cancel and use these licences instead by selecting ‘No’.
  • Select Yes to continue
  • Ensure that the licence shown in the list is the licence you wish to renew
  • Select the terms of the licence using the drop down menu (1,2,3,4 or 5 year licences available)
  • Select Request Renewals

You will be shown a notification to say your request has been successful and you will see a tick within the ‘Renewal Requested’ column of the Licence Manager.

How do I know when my licence has been renewed?

When you place a Renewal Request, you will see the ‘Renewal Requested’ box checked to signify that this licence has had its renewal requested. Once approved and payment terms are met, the renewal will automatically be allocated to the requested licence.

You will see that the check box is no longer checked (if the licence renewal request has been successful) and the Expiry date of your Licence will have changed to show the updated term of your licence, including the requested renewal duration.
