The Long Term Support channel is updated every 6 months by Google.
Signagelive test the version that will be deployed to Long Term Support whilst it is in the Long Term Candidate channel. See here for more information on the Long Term Support channel.
The Stable channel receives monthly updates from Google and represents the latest version of ChromeOS supplied by Google. Please note Signagelive does not test each update to the Stable Channel as we recommend that customers use the Long Term Support Channel as the version of ChromeOS deployed to the Long Term Support channel is tested ahead of release by Signagelive.
Please note that if a device is currently running a version greater than the version in the Long Term Support channel and is switched to the Long Term Support channel the version of operating system will effectively be pinned until the ChromeOS version deployed until the point the Long Term Support surpasses the version installed on the ChromeOS device at which time it will be updated.
