Notice of change of terminology: Deploy becomes Publish

Over the last few months we have been very busy making significant changes to the way that Signagelive works, which will be released and announced over the coming days.

This email provides you with advanced notice of a change to some terminology within the Signagelive User Interface - Deploy and Deployment will in many cases become Publish.

This may seem like a subtle change however it will be an important change going forwards and we will provide more information next week.

Publish is to be used when referring to configuring content ready to be sent to the players. Publishing starts when the user clicks the Publish button and finishes when the Signagelive background services have everything in place for all selected players to update. This includes synchronization of external content, removing unsupported assets, filtering out assets excluded because of meta data rules etc.

Deployment is reserved for the process of a Signagelive player connecting to our servers, downloading the new content and notifying Signagelive of the fact that it is completed or not.

The most visible place this change will be in the user interface; everything will work as it always has done and will be in the same place however Deploy will be replaced with Publish in the menu.

Please keep a close eye on our website and knowledgebase for further announcements over the next few days.
