Introductory Video

So now you are ready to get underway and begin learning about signagelive. To start you off, why not take a moment to watch our two minute introduction video to our software featuring our CEO, Jason Cremins.

When you've watched the video you'll be well on your way to understanding signagelive and what it can achieve for you.

Understanding the Minimum Requirements

We are often asked by our users whether the hardware they have will be suitable for using our software. The answer to this question is dependent on the type of media content and design features you wish to use, so if you are wanting to just show still images then you can use a lower specification player; whereas layouts with multiple tickers and video will require a higher specification.

The minimum level of specification would be:

  • Operating System - Windows 7, Windows XP or Embedded Versions.
  • Processor and Speed - 1.6 GHz single-core processor or higher. (x86)
  • RAM - 1GB

A preferred level of specification would be:

  • Operating System - Windows 7 (32bit or 64bit)
  • Processor and Speed - 2.0 GHz dual-core processor or higher. (x86 or x86-64)
  • RAM - 2GB or higher
Please note that like any desktop software application, you must have administrator rights on your computer to be able to install signagelive. If you are in an work environment where you do not have these rights or are unsure of this, please contact your IT department for assistance.

Now that you know what your hardware player can achieve, you will also need to ensure your player has the following software installed.

2_any_PC-montage-600x324.pngOne of the key issues new users experience is that they do not install the Combined Community Codec Pack and then their video deployments do not appear to play.Do not let yourself experience the same issue, please do ensure you download and install the Combined Community Codec Pack on to your signagelive player.

Working behind a secure network infrastructure

We appreciate that a lot of users can be behind very secure infrastructures and for security reasons are not allowed complete access to the internet. Do not worry as in terms of signagelive, you can get your players to connect to our signagelive server with the use of Domain Names or Static IP Addresses. However, you or your IT Team would like to achieve a connection is your decision.

Domain Names Static IP Addresses
To ensure that you continue to be able to use the signagelive service, please ensure that your firewall is configured to allow the addresses below, you may need to forward this to your internal IT team for assistance with this:

Alternatively, if you company IT policy requires IP Addresses rather than domain names these are:

  • *.signagelive.com on ports 80 and 443
  • c274425.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com - port 443
  • c625782.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com - port 443

  • 31.222.175.40
  • 31.222.175.66
  • 46.38.178.118
  • 46.38.178.155

Please note the Static IP Addresses are subject to change. We will keep this information up to date here for all users.
